The incident happened last night around 11 when a group of four youths waylaid an SUV of one Rakesh Kumar after he failed give pass to their vehicle.
They allegedly thrashed Kumar with iron rods and sticks.
Hearing his cries, his younger brother Sunil and his four friends Vikas, Abhishek, Rahul reached the spot to resolve the matter but matter worsened with heated exchange of words, Senior Superintendent of Police Deepak Kumar said.
Police have arrested Nadeem, Riyaz, Shahid and Rahul Khan, under section 307 IPC, the SSP said, adding that some people tried to flare up the incident as the youths engaged in tiff were from two different communities.
Police force has been deployed in the area to check any untoward incident, the police official said.
