A spokesman of Chandigarh police said late this evening that the five constables have been dismissed from service.
Four of the constables were posted in the vehicles of the Police Control Room (PCR which are the first to reach a crime spot, including incidents related to harassment of girls and women and Sunil was posted in the Crime Branch of the Chandigarh Police.
The spokesman said in a release that "a special request has also been made to the court for the trial of the case on fast track proceeding."
"Regarding the case, senior officers of Chandigarh Police have taken a very strong view of the worst act of the constables which amounts to grave misconduct," the spokesman said.
