5 detained for bovine smuggling in J&K

Police today detained five people for alleged bovine smuggling in the outskirts of the city here today, following which agitating locals damaged the vehicles used by them.
Two vehicles used to carry bovines were intercepted by locals at Bajalta belt of Sidhra area here, police said.
The protesting people burnt the vehicles and a motorcycle used by the smugglers following which police rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control, they said.
Five people were detained and a case has been registered in this regard, police said.
