Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Fida Hussain Janwari told reporters that the exchange of heavy fire took place last night in Ghulam Hussain Shah Lane near Lea Market in Lyari which is notorious for its rival criminal gangs.
"The Station House Officer (SHO) of Napier police station Azam Khan has been critically injured in the exchange while a Rangers personnel and a policeman were also wounded during heavy exchange of firing between the law enforcers and the gangsters," Janwari said.
"One of those killed had established a reign of terror in Lyari," police said.
