The mishap occurred in Khammam's Penubali mandal at around 5.15 AM when the lorry coming from the opposite direction rammed into the autorickshaw.
Five male passengers of the three-wheeler died on the spot, DSP (Sathupalli division) B Ashok Kumar told PTI over phone.
Following the collision, the autorickshaw got dragged along with the lorry to some distance in a nearby field, he said.
Further probe was on into the accident, police added.
