M Krishnan was accompanying his two daughters -- Akshaya (5) and Pooja (9) -- and his neighbour's son Tarun (3) to their school in then autorickshaw when the driver of the lorry coming from behind lost control over the vehicle and dashed into the three-wheeler.
Akshaya died on the spot while her father, her sister Pooja and Tarun were injured, police said.
All the injured have been admitted to a hospital by fire service personnel who rescued them. The condition of Pooja and Krishnan was stated to be very serious and they had been rushed to Madurai Government Rajaji Hospital for further treatment.
