A case has been registered against the neighbour Tanveer following a complaint by the victim's father, police said today.
The incident took place last night when the girl was alone at her house as her family members had gone out for shopping.
"When the girl was alone, Tanveer barged into her house and allegedly raped her. The accused also increased the volume of TV while raping her so that no one could get to know about the incident," said a senior police official.
"The incident came to light when the victim's parents returned home. She was immediately taken to hospital," he also said.
According to police, Tanveer had been living in a rented accommodation for a long time in the area.
"Tanveer has been booked under Section 376 of the IPC at Siyani Gate police station. Police have launched a manhunt to nab him. He would be arrested soon," the official said.
