"The recent incident shows that trust between Kashmiri and local students has declined. College managements need to bridge the trust... They should also ensure extra safety measures," consortium president D K Garg said.
"Further we have appealed to all students studying at various colleges not to look at Kashmiri students with suspicion. Kashmir is integral part of India and Kashmiri students are their brothers," he added.
Three Kashmiri students of Nodia International University had alleged that fellow students misbehaved with them and forced them to shout anti-Pakistan slogans.
He was referring to the expulsion of over 60 students of Swami Vivekananda Subharti University in Meerut from the hostel two months ago after they had supported Pakistan cricket team against India in an Asia Cup match.
Meanwhile, a three-member team headed by Jammu and Kashmir principal resident commissioner in Delhi Lokesh Kumar Jha had visited the university yesterday and talked to students and college managements on the issue.
