"I have given a proposal in this regard to the government. The government has approved it," Marik told reporters here.
"The maximum age limit of such retired police officers will be 60 years and they will work till attaining 62-years of age," he said.
Marik said there would be no dearth of such retired police officers in the state as they had retired from their services at the age of 58.
The government has now increased the retirement age for the government employees to 60 years, he said.
"The move is aimed at solving large-scale vacancies of the police personnel in the state," Marik said adding around 47 per cent of sanctioned sub-inspector posts in the state were lying vacant.
