The woman was allegedly raped by an elder brother of her husband in Kanwali village, 27-km from here, on January 25, they said.
The alleged rapist had been arrested and was behind bars, police said.
The exact cause why the woman took the extreme step was not yet known, they said.
A case of abetment to suicide had been registered against the woman's husband on a complaint by another elder brother of her husband, police said.
