Court issues NBW against K'taka Excise Minister

: A court here has issued a Non-Bailable Warrant against Karnataka Excise Minister M P Renukacharya and seven others for allegedly violating the model code of conduct during the 2008 Assembly elections.
Judicial Magistrate First Class Annegowda Patil issued the warrant on March 4 in connection with a case registered against Renukacharya and others at a police station for allegedly transporting 3,143 sarees worth Rs 4.61 lakh to distribute them in Honnalli constituency, from where he was elected, on April 15, 2008.
The court directed them to appear before it on or before March 11.
