The project envisages building an underpass and two flyovers on the road stretch which presently has 12 traffic signals. It is expected to cost around Rs 150 crore.
A government official said once the project is completed, it will save around 50 minutes of travel time between Khajuri Khas and Bhopura, Uttar Pradesh. Project is expected to be completed by May 2019.
The official said the construction will begin soon as Unified Traffic and Transportation Infrastructure (planning & engineering) Centre (UTTIPEC) recently gave its nod to the construction of two flyovers and an underpass.
