Six persons have been arrested for allegedly attacking and stabbing a father-son duo in South Delhi's Nehru Place area last week over a parking dispute.
According to police, the accused -- identified as Deepak (20), Nikhil Shukla (19), Raj Kumar (21), Rajesh Ray (20), Dinesh Soni (20) and Ravi (19) -- were arrested yesterday.
They have been accused of attacking trader Shakil and his son Faijan (16).
Giving details of the incident, police said around 11:30 AM on Monday two boys came to Mansarovar Building, Nehru Place and parked their motorcycle in front of Shakil's shop.
As he asked them to remove their motorcycle from the spot, a heated argument followed by a scuffle took place between those boys and Shakil and his son Faijan.
The boys left the place but around 1.00 PM, they came back, along with their other associates, and started assaulting Shakil and his son and also stabbed them.
"Shakil and his son sustained severe injuries and were rushed to Trauma Centre, AIIMS. A case of attempted murder-cum -riot was registered at Kalkaji police station and a probe began," said DCP (southeast) Mandeep Randhawa.
After some efforts to identify the accused, the police team zeroed in on Dinesh Soni and he was arrested. At his instance, his five accomplices as mentioned above were also arrested in this case.
Some more assailants involved in this incident have also been identified but yet to be arrested, said Randhawa.
