6 booked for duping Rs 26.50 lakh on pretext of sending abroad

Six persons were booked today on the charges of duping Rs 26.50 lakh from a person on the pretext of sending him abroad.
On a complaint filed by Devinder Singh, a resident of village Kharori here, a case in this regard was registered against Nirmal Singh, Ranjit Singh, Charanjit Singh, Gurinder Singh, Ashok Kumar and Sukhjit Singh, police said.
The complainant alleged that he had paid Rs 26.50 lakh to the six accused in April, 2012, on the assurance of sending him to Italy.
After failing to keep their commitment, the accused refused to return him the money, Devinder claimed.
