At least six persons were charred to death when a Mumbai-bound bus from Bangalore caught fire after hitting a road divider near Kunimelli bridge, about 14 km from here, in the early hours today.
The bus had left Bangalore last night and 41 passengers managed to escape, Superintendent of Police Shashi Kumar said.
The bodies are yet to be identified, he said.
The tragedy comes two weeks after 45 people had died when a Hyderabad-bound bus from Bangalore caught fire after hitting the median on the national highway in Mahabubnagar district of Andhra Pradesh.
