Three persons, including a 10-year-old boy, were killed in Sitapur while two died in Badaun in separate incidents of wall collapse and one person died in Bareilly due to house collapse in past 24 hours, they said.
Bodies of the deceased have been sent for postmortem, they added.
According to Meteorological Department, maximum of 17 cm rainfall was received in Hardoi while Moradabad and Shahjahanpur had witnessed 15 and 14 cm rainfall respectively.
Major rivers in the state were also rising due to heavy rains.
According to Central Water commission report, river Sharda is flowing above danger mark in Paliakalan (Lakhimpur) while Ghagra river is flowing close to danger mark at Elgin Bride (Barabanki).
River Ganga is also rising in Kanpur, Dalmau (Raebareli), Mirzapur and Varanasi while Yamuna is on rise in Auraiya and Hamirpur while Ghagra is rising in Ayodhya and Turtipar (Ballia), it said.
