The victim Rocky A Unis was alone at his home in Uttan locality of Bhayander yesterday when the assailants attacked him with a sickle, assistant police inspector Priyatama Muthe said.
When his wife returned home in the evening, she found Unis lying in a pool of blood and also spotted the sickle near the body. The man was later declared brought dead by doctors at a local hospital.
Based on the complaint of the deceased's wife Jenivhi R Unis (60), an offence has been registered under section 302 (murder) of IPC, the police officer said.
