The Deputy Commissioner of the district, Amit Kumar has okayed the recommendations made by Senior Superintendent of Police, Anoop T Mathew to bar seven alleged criminals from the district for a period of six months under Crime Control Act, 2002, official sources said.
Eight other alleged history sheeters were also asked to appear before the Superintendent of Police (city) everyday, the sources said adding that the objective behind the action was to maintain peace in the distirct.
Eight others - directed to appear before the Superintendent of Police (City) Prasant Anand - were identified as Vijay Tirkey, Ahmed Raza alias Meethu, Sadab Alam (Azadnagar PS), Amardeep Kumar, Rishi Deo alias Bappa (Mango PS), Ravi Das (Sidgora PS), Naresh Das (Sitaramdera PS) and Raj Kumar alias Kala, sources added.
