7 IPS officers transferred in Punjab

The Punjab government today transferred a Punjab Police Service (PPS) officer and seven IPS officers with immediate effect.
An official spokesperson said Rakesh Agrawal has been posted as DIG/Special Protection Unit and S K Rampal as DIG/Security.
H S Sidhu has been appointed as ADGP Special Task Force (STF), Pramod Ban as IGP of STF, Balkar Singh Sidhu as IGP of STF and B Chandrasekhar as IGP of STF, he said.
The STF was set up by the Amarinder Singh government to tackle the drug menace in the state.
A S Rai had been appointed as IGP/Zone Patiala with additional charge of IGP/Vigilance Bureau, the spokesperson said, adding Snehdeep Sharma, PPS has been posted as Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) of STF.
