The prosecution case was that Jothi and her husband Sathyaraj were living with their two daughters at Kovilmedu near Ammapet village in Bhavani taluk.
Sathyaraj without going for work demanded money from his wife as she was working as a cooly.
On October 19, 2014 Jyothi killed her second daughter using a sickle and burnt the child in her house using the firewood and kerosene.
An hour after the incident her husband came to the house find the child body was burning and he raised alarm, the neighbours came there. Information was conveyed to the Ammapet police who registered murder case against Jothi.
