7-yr-old boy run over by truck

A seven-year-old boy was crushed to death while his mother was injured after they were hit by a truck today in the Anand Vihar area of east Delhi.
According to police, in the incident which took place at around 12.30 P.M., the victim, identified as Himanshu, was mowed down by the truck on Vikas Marg while his mother sustained injuries. The boy was on his way home from school accompanied by his mother when the mishap occurred.
"Both victims were rushed to a nearby hospital where Himanshu was declared dead," police said, adding that the accused driver has been arrested although he had fled the spot after the accident. The cleaner of the vehicle, too, is in police custody and further inquiries are on, they added.
