70-yr-old woman killed after truck runs over her

A 70-year-old woman was killed after a truck ran over her while she was standing along the National Highway 1, opposite the local Bus stand here today, the police said.
The police identified the deceased as Gian Kaur of Mukhliana village.
She died on the spot, they said.
A case for causing death by negligence, rash driving was registered against the truck driver, they said.
The driver fled after the accident, leaving the truck behind, the police said.
The vehicle was impounded and a manhunt has been launched to nab the absconding driver, they added.
