700 gms of gold valued at 17.7 lakh seized at airport

Customs officials seized 700 gms of gold valued at Rs 17.7 lakh from two women passengers who were trying to smuggle in the metal at the N S C Bose International Airport here today.
The two women holding Malaysian passports had arrived from a flight from Malaysia.
During immigration and customs check, the customs authorities found that the two women were carrying 700 gms of gold which they had not declared, customs officials said.
The gold was seized from them, they said.
