700 vacant posts of doctors to be filled soon

Jammu and Kashmir government today said 700 doctors would soon be added in health services system of the state by filling up vacant posts.
"Government will soon add over 700 doctors in health services by filling up vacant posts," Minister of State for Health Shabir Ahmad Khan said while addressing a meeting in Rajouri district after inaugurating a Primary Health Center building.
He said in this regard, the selection process for recruitment of doctors through Public Service Commission (PSC) is at final stage.
Khan said once the selection list is received from the PSC, these doctors would be posted in hospitals, especially in rural and hilly areas.

Besides upgradation of health infrastructure, including construction of hospital buildings in rural and hilly areas, many new health institutions in difficult terrains have also been prioritised, he said.
The Minister said the economic welfare of rural and hilly areas is top priority of the government and implementation of special schemes for socio-economic transformation have yielded tangible results at grassroot level in the state.
He said the governments' priority is to upgrade communication, education and health cover in these areas and extend assistance to help generate economic activities and give fillip to the education and health care facilities.
The Minister also called upon Panches and Sarpanches to highlight the problems and developmental needs of the people before the government for their early mitigation.
