8 arrested with heroin worth Rs 5 crore in Raj

Eight smugglers were arrested and heroin worth Rs 5 crore in the international market were seized from their possession in Barmer, police said today.
Acting on a tip off yesterday, a police party checked a jeep and recovered 4 kg 440 gram heroin from three smugglers identified as Noorshah, Dosu and Arbu Khan.
On their information, Sharif, Kalu Khan, Haneef, Rahmatullah and Jetaram were also arrested from different places, police said.
423 gram heroin was also recovered from the house of Dosu, SP Barmer Gagandeep Singla said.
A total of 4 kg 863 gm heroin worth Rs 5 crore approximately has been seized, he said.
