Tasrum Khatoon, daughter of Hakim Ahmad, was going to buy vegetables along with his brother Mukka, at around 4 pm, when the speeding mini truck hit her on Pushta Road, killing her on the spot.
Agitated locals caught the errant driver and beat him black and blue before he was rescued by a police team which arrested him and pacified the charged up crowd.
A case of negligent driving was registered against the driver and he was arrested, police said.
