Ram Kishore Yadav was killed by unidentified persons while he was sleeping near the tubewell last night, a police spokesperson said.
The complaint was lodged by the deceased's son, Santlal, today, they added.
Police said a case has been lodged and efforts are on to nab the killers.
He said the body has been sent for postmortem.
