The clash took place yesterday when the members of Dalit community tried to prevent another community members from taking possession of a disputed piece of land, Circle Officer Nishank Sharma said.
Both the groups used sharp-edged weapons and firearms during the clash in which nine persons were injured, he said.
On receiving information, police rushed to the spot and brought situation under control, Sharma said.
Six persons were arrested in this connection, the CO added.
