The incident took place yesterday when a truck carrying 24 devotees back from a Holi fair collided head-on with another truck in Kurli village, they said.
The driver of the other truck has been nabbed, police Circle officer Dharmendra Yadav said.
Out the twelve injured persons, five sustained serious injuries, police said.
An ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh to the kin of deceased, Rs 50,000 to the seriously injured and Rs 25,000 to injured has been announced from Chief Minister's Relief fund, District Magistrate B Chandrakala said.
