The incident took place in the wee hours of the day when the marriage party was returning from Kanpur and their SUV was hit by a bus on Lalganj-Fatehpur highway near Janta Bazar, police said.
The deceased were identified as Anantu (70), Bhagauti Singh (60), Shivcharan Chaurasia and Srikrishna Shakya both (50); Krishna Bahadur Singh, Ram Vishal and Suresh Kumar all 40-years of age; Kripashankar (38) and Vikas Gupta (36).
The injured were rushed to a hospital, where condition of one was stated to be critical, police added.
