It took officials of the district administration, fire brigade and Army personnel five and a half hours to pull out the boy's body, which agitated his family members who blocked the Ambala-Rajpura National Highway.
Shivam, a student of Class IV in Ambala City, and his brother were waiting for their bus near Jain College Chowk after the school hours, police said.
While playing, they went to a well close to the chowk and Shivam slipped into it, they said.
Shivam's body was taken out from the well after five and a half hours of efforts by Amy personnel and fire brigade officials, police said.
