90-year-old man killed after dispute over stealing vegetables

A 90-year-old man here succumbed to his injuries after being allegedly subjected to a thrashing by a group of four persons, three of them women, when he objected to their trying to steal vegetables from his fields.
According to a complaint filed by Pritam Dass, his father Puran Dass of Channalon village was beaten up by the four accused when he objected to their entry into his fields, said Assistant Sub-Inspector, Sirhind, Gurmeet Singh.
Puran later succumbed to his injuries, he added.
A case has been registered against four persons, identified as Karamjeet Kaur, Sona, Swaran Kaur and Tarsem Khan, in this regard, Singh said, adding that a manhunt was on to arrest the accused.
