Mahindra Nagpal, Leader of House in NDMC, said the work of de-silting of drains is in full swing to combat water logging.
In six zones of NDMC, he said, the work of de-silting of 1638 drains below 4 feet and 225 drains above 4 feet is in progress.
The total length of these drains is 1,52,667 meters and approximately 7,693 tonnes of silt have been removed out.
"Almost 91 per cent work of de-silting is completed," he said.
"If de-silting of big drains is not done, then de-silting of small drains would be of no use," he said.
Nagpal said NDMC has identified 52 vulnerable points which are prone to water logging. Necessary equipments like pump-sets have been arranged for control of the situation that arises due to water-logging, he added.
