"Water tax to the tune of around Rs 1,05,867.19 lakh is pending against 98 industries operational in the state," Agrawal stated in a written reply to the question of the Leader of Opposition, T S Singhdeo.
He said the concerned department frequently carried out correspondence with these companies and also served notices for recovery of the pending dues.
Chhattisgarh State Power Generation Company Limited (CSPGCL-East), Korba tops the list of such units with unsettled dues of Rs 54,602.58 lakh, followed by CSPGCL-West Korba (Rs 16329.76 lakh), M/s Nova Iron and Steel Limited-Bilaspur (Rs 6078.85 lakh) and Ind Synergy Limited-Kotmar (Rs 5089.708 lakh) among others.
