A C Muthiah denies allegations levelled against him

Industrialist A C Muthiah today denied allegations levelled by Managing Director of Chettinad Cement and Group Head M A M R Muthiah and threatened to sue him if he did not withdraw a police complaint in this regard.
"All the allegations against me contained in the said public notice and the press statement are false, baseless, malicious, scandalous and intended to tarnish my reputation," he said in a notice to M A M R Muthiah.
He asked him to forthwith withdraw the public notice, press statement and the complaint "said to have been lodged by you failing which I will be constrained to initiate appropriate legal proceedings against you".

In a new twist in the family feud in the Rs 10,000-crore Chettinad group, M A M R Muthiah yesterday said he has filed a complaint with police alleging that A C Muthiah seemed to have taken thumb impressions of his estranged father M A M Ramaswamy in blank papers to grab his properties.
In a press release, he said he had lodged a police complaint against A C Muthiah, who is a cousin of Ramaswamy and SPIC promoter and two others in this regard.
The Rs 10,000-crore Chettinad Group with business interest across sectors like cement, hospitality and education has been witnessing a long-running battle for power between its patriarch 85-year-old Ramaswamy and his adopted son M A M R Muthiah.

The veteran was not elected a Director in the Annual General Meeting of Chettinad Cement Corporation, the Group's flagship company, last year following which he had disowned his adopted son.
