Singh was addressing the valedictory function of the Quami Ekta Saptah at Dr B R Ambedkar Auditorium here on Tuesday.
The chartered Air India jet flight in the Port Blair-Chennai sector will commence on Dec 20, 2014 offering uniform fare of Rs 5000/- for a one-way travel to islanders. The 150 passenger capacity aircraft will operate once a week in the sector, he said.
Likewise, the air connectivity on the Port Blair-Vizag sector will become operational from December 24, 2014.
The LG also announced that the Sound and Light Show at Ross Islands will start from December 7. It will showcase the history of Ross Islands, he said.
On the new airport terminal, the Lt. Governor informed that the construction work has commenced and the administration is committed to complete the project within the set deadline.
