As the students sat on a dharna blocking the main gate and locking the other gates, hundreds of students, some parents, teachers and other staff of Ravenshaw University were holed up for over six hours in the campus, police said.
The agitating students were demanding action against some unknown accused persons who had allegedly stormed inside one of their hostels on Saturday evening and thrashed some inmates, including some student leaders.
