Local people found an abandoned scooter with two bags at the post office more in the town. They immediately informed the police about the matter, they said.
The police cordoned off the area and the CID bomb squad.
Before the CID bomb squad arrived, a man came and claimed that the scooter and the bags were his and showed relevant papers, the police said.
The police handed over the scooter to the man after searching the scooter and the bag, they added.
