Abandoned tiger cub dies during treatment

A tiger cub died while undergoing treatment at Brahmapuri today, a senior forest officer said.
"The cub, less than a month old, was spotted during patrolling by the forest personnel in Sindewahi tehsil under Bhimpuri division of forest in noon," said Chief Conservator of Forests (Chandrapur Circle), Sanjay Thakre.
The officer said the cub was in a very delicate condition when found, and was taken to Brahmapuri where it died in evening.
Foresters suspect that it could have been abandoned by its mother tigress, while the exact cause behind its death is being ascertained.
