Actor Abhishek Bachchan, known for his acclaimed performances in films like "Yuva", "Guru" and "Sarkar", has completed 15 years in the Hindi film industry and thanked his loyal fan-following for supporting him.
The 39-year-old actor took to Twitter to express his gratitude to his fans.
"Today I complete 15 years in the film industry. Thank you all for the love and support. You guys are my inspiration and reason. #15YearsOfAB," he tweeted.
Abhishek, son of megastar Amitabh Bachchan, made his Bollywood debut with J P Dutta's "Refugee" opposite Kareena Kapoor Khan, in 2000.
"Kareena (bebo), thank you. My first ever co-star, friend and rabble rouser in the industry. You will always be a favourite," he said of Kareena.
"Thank you JP sahab, @bindasbhidu @AnupamPkher Suneil anna and the rest of the cast and crew. I would not be here if it wasn't for all of you," the actor wrote.
His colleagues like Karan Johar, Anupam Kher, Dia Mirza, Divya Dutta congratulated him.
Abhishek has had a journey full of highs and lows, as after a promising debut, the actor struggled to make a mark at the box-office when his films including "Dhai Akshar Prem Ke", "Tera Jadoo Chal Gaya", " Bas Itna Sa Khwaab Hai" and "Shararat" failed at the box-office.
The actor finally broke the jinx with Mani Ratnam's "Yuva" in 2004, followed by hits like "Dhoom", "Bunty Aur Babli", "Sarkar" and "Dus".
Ratnam's 2007 film on the life of Reliance Industries' founder, Dhirubhai Ambani, is not only one of the most successful films of Abhishek's career, but is also said to be his most powerful performance.
Abhishek ventured into production with R Balki's "Paa" starring himself, his father Amitabh Bachchan and Vidya Balan.
The film received critical acclaim and won the National Film Award for best feature film in Hindi.
The actor, also known for his fluid comic timing, was appreciated in John Abraham and Priyanka Chopra-starrer "Dostana", "Happy New Year" and "Bol Bachchan".
He will be next seen in "All Is Well" opposite Asin and the third instalment of the "Hera Pheri" series, alongside John.
