Shahid has rapped in both his tracks from the film -- "Chitta Ve" and the title song "Ud-Daa Punjab" - which was released today.
Abhishek shared that he was surprised when the 35-year-old actor finished the rap in one take for the title track.
"Shahid has become Tommy Singh, he has rapped even in 'Chitta Ve' and this further helped him rap in this track as well. He has enjoyed the process and actually finished the rap part of the song in one take. We have used the same footage in the final track," the Director said in a statement.
Also starring Kareena Kapoor-Khan, Alia Bhatt and Diljit Dosanjh, "Udta Punjab", based on the issue of drug addiction in the northern state, is expected to arrive in theatres on June 17.
