Don't blame Nepal forces for conflict-era incidents: Deuba

Defending the role played by Nepal's security forces during the decade-long civil war, former premier and Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba today said they had discharged their duties in line with the state's policies and rules during the conflict era.
"However, those found guilty of serious crime shall be brought to book," said Deuba speaking at an interaction programme organised by the Human Rights Organisation of Nepal (HURON) on 'Conflict Resolution and Justice' in the capital.
Pointing out that the ongoing peace process was Nepal's internal matter, Deuba said that the matter should be settled through reconciliation by finding out facts.

The army cannot remain silent when their barracks were attacked during the insurgency period, he pointed out and added that "however, serious human rights violation done for taking personal revengeshould be brought to justice".
Deuba served as prime minister for two terms during the decade-long Maoist conflict that started in 1996.
