The protesters, including members of Youth Against Corruption, also disrupted academic activities in colleges and educational institutes in Patna, Darbhanga, Khagaria, Bhojpur and Gaya districts as part of their country-wide agitation on the issue, official sources said.

In Patna, ABVP and YAC activists forced themselves in College of Commerce and tried to stall classes. They later went to Rajendra Nagar railway station and halted the movement of Patna-Secundarabad Express for a brief period.

The protesters also forced colleges under Patna University to suspend classes for the day and blocked Ashok Rajpath, the sources said.

The activists pelted stones on Guwahati-Bikaner Express near the outer signal of Khagaria railway station damaging window panes of several coaches and injured some passengers, GRP sources said.

The injured passengers were given first-aid at the railway station, they said.

Demonstrations were also staged at Darbhanga railway station and Delhi-bound Sampark Kranti Express was stalled for about 30 minutes, Railways sources said.

The activists forced several colleges of L N Mishra University to be closed for the day.

They activists also held protests and took out rallies in Gaya, Aurangbad and Bhojpur, according to reports received from these districts.

ABVP and YAC had yesterday given a call for country-wide 'college bandh' on September 4 to protest controversial allocation of coal blocks.
