Deputy Superintendent of Police (ACB) Jairaj Chapria, told PTI that police constable Balkrishna M Ingle (52) was attached to the Dombiivli police station between October 2011 and March 2012.
During this period there a case was registered against the complainant and her husband by their daughter-in-law under Section 498-A at the police station. In order to "help" the accused, the constable allegedly demanded Rs 1.50 lakh, the ACB official said.
During interrogation, the constable accepted that he had accepted Rs 1.50 lakh from the complainant.
