ACB, EOW raid houses of seven govt officials in Chhattisgarh

In a major operation, sleuths of Economic Offences Wing and Anti-Corruption Bureau today raided the houses of seven government officials and discovered disproportionate assets worth Rs 13.91 crore.
Teams ofACBand EOW conducted the raids simultaneously in Bilaspur, Balrampur, Rajnandgaon, Janjgir-Champa and Raipur districts, Additional Director General of Police (EOW/ACB) Mukesh Gupta told PTI.
The searches were underway even late in the evening.
Ten teams of ACB and EOW took part in the operation, which was carried out following complaints received against these seven officials, Gupta said.
The officers whose houses/premises were raided were Ramesh Sharma, Assistant Engineer of Public Health Engineering (PHE) Department, Raipur, S N Shrivastav, Superintending Engineer of Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojna (PMGSY) Raipur, Gyaneshwar Prasad Dubey, Sub Divisional Officer (Forest), Balrampur, K K Banjare, Deputy Director of Mining Department, Bilaspur, A R Naidu, Forest Ranger Manpur-Mohla (Rajnandgaon), Suresh Chandra Maheshwari, Superintending Engineer PHE, Bilaspur, and Ramratan Pandey, District Manager, Markfed, Janjgir.

From the residences of Pandey, the team unearthed assets worth Rs 2.82 crore, which include houses at Janjgir, Champa, Bilaspur and Raipur, and Rs 2,42,130 cash.
Similarly, disproportionate assets worth Rs 2.72 crore, including a house worth Rs 1.5 crore in Raipur, bank lockers and documents pertaining to a land in Madhya Pradesh were seized from Shrivastav.
No arrests has been made yet, the ADG said.
