"Narendra Modi came to power telling lies against the ruling party and now wishes to thrive upon these lies," Congress today alleged, trashing the prime minister's claim of bringing 'achhe din'.
"At the conclusion of the first year, people have realised that the 'achhe din' were meant for Modi and the BJP, the country was never in consideration," an editorial in the latest issue of Congress mouthpiece Sandesh said.
The party reminded Modi that this mandate is "not indefinite. It has a tenure and time is fast running out".
Besides, it said one of the "biggest failures" of the government was that important positions remained vacant for indefinite periods, "probably due to excessive control of the PMO on all ministries".
