Led by the All India Democratic Women's Association (AIDWA), the groups walked to Parliament Street from Mandi House.
"We have come together to celebrate our solidarity and our resistance to the brazen patriarchal, casteist, communal and regressive forces that are operating with utter impunity in the country," an activist said, addressing a public meeting at Jantar Mantar.
The participants shouted slogans such as "Nari mukti zindabad" and "Nari ekta zindabad" as they pledged to continue working on women's issues.
March 8 is celebrated across the world as International Women's Day.
