Actor Vikram Chatterjee who was involved in an accident that killed his co-passenger, model and TV host Sonika Chauhan, and injured him last month, was yet to appear before the investigating officers, police said.
A senior officer of Kolkata Police said that Vikram had been served a notice last week asking him to appear before investigating officers at Tollygunge police station within seven days.
"We are trying to send him a message that the 7-day period is over and he must appear before the investigating officers," he said.
Meanwhile, as part of the investigation, police officers today conducted chemical tests on the car belonging to Vikram which was involved in the accident.
A team from Tollygunge police station also called a few common friends of both Vikram and Sonika, present at the pubs where the two had partyed, for questioning in connection with the probe into the matter.
A city court on May 5 granted bail to Vikram after he surrendered in connection with a case relating to the accident.
Vikram had been booked suo motu by Kolkata Police and Sonika's family has lodged a complaint against him later. Both the cases were tagged together.
The actor was booked under various IPC Sections including 304A (causing death due to negligence) and 279 (rash driving).
In the early hours of April 29, the car with Vikram at the wheel and Sonika seated on the front seat swerved and crashed into the pavement along south Kolkata's Rashbehari Avenue.
Asked whether an SIT was formed, the officer replied in the negative.
