Adani ties up with Elbit, Alpha for unmanned aircraft systems

Adani Aero Defence has signed a pact with Elbit-ISTAR and Alpha Design Technologies to work in the field of Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) in India.
"Adani Aero Defence Systems & Technologies, Elbit-ISTAR and Alpha Design Technologies have signed a statement of intent to cooperate and work together in the field of UAS in India, aligned to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 'Make in India' initiative," Adani Enterprises said in a statement.
UAS provides multi-functional capability especially that of 'see and hear' to provide information advantage to the fighters and net security providers.
"The companies plan to create a tiered vendor base for supporting, indigenisation and localisation requirements and seeks to set up a final assembly and integration line including MRO (maintenance, repair and overhaul) facilities by incorporating true transfer of technology for supporting the product range, during its life cycle," it said.
The statement of intent reflects the commitment of companies to realise the dream of 'Make in India' for global requirements, it added.
Adani Aero Defence is a fully-owned subsidiary of Adani Enterprises with interests in design, technology development, technical collaboration, system integration services for aerospace and defence equipment and systems.
Israel-based Elbit Systems Ltd is an international high technology company engaged in a wide range of defence, homeland security and commercial programmes throughout the world.
The company, which includes Elibit Systems and its subsidiaries, operates in the area of aerospace, land and naval systems, command, control, communications, computers, intelligence surveillance and unmanned aircraft systems.
Alpha Design Technologies specialises in design, development and production of defence electronics and avionics equipment and systems, airframes, upgradation of cockpits etc, in defence systems.
The Adani Group is one of India's leading business houses with revenue of over USD 10 billion.
Adani Enterprises shares closed 8.71 per cent up at Rs 73 apiece on BSE.
