ADB summit: Chidambaram inspects meeting venue

Ahead of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) summit, Union Finance Minister P Chidambaram today visited India Expo Centre here and took a stock of the arrangements.
The ADB summit is scheduled to be held here from May 2 to 5. The event is being organised jointly by Ministry of Finance, Government of India and the Asian Development Bank.
Representatives from 67 countries are expected to take part in the summit and CII is the nodal agency for the event.
Chidambaram reached the Centre at around 9 AM and remained there for two hours, during which he inspected the arrangements and halls where the meetings would be held.
He also inquired about security and parking arrangements.
The Union minister held meeting with district's senior administrative and police officers.
Greater Noida CEO Rama Raman gave presentation about the meeting halls, parking arrangements, stay arrangements for foreign visitors and route via DND till India Expo Centre.
SSP Preetinder Singh also gave presentation about the security arrangements.
The visitors will get signal free drive till the centre and Central forces will take up the premises few days before the event.
Meerut IG Bhavesh Kumar Singh, ADG law and order Arun Kumar, district magistrate Kumar Ravikant Singh were also present at the meeting.
For medical emergencies Kailash, Sharda, Fortis and Metro hospitals too have been directed to reserve 10 beds and one ICU unit each for event emergency.
For providing toll free movement VVIP members will be issued stickers and one lane will be reserved for such visitors.
Noida Power Company Limited the power distribution agency at Greater Noida has been directed to make arrangement for providing uninterrupted power supply during the event days.
India Expo Centre is located near zero point of Yamuna Expressway.
